The coating thickness can be determined through the
coulombmetric measurements, in fact it concerns the
anodic oxidation of a protective film bound to a specific
substrate.
The coating dissolution time is proportional to
the thickness and to the kind of the involved atoms,
once calibrated with standard samples it yields an
exact thickness value.
The instrument reaches a good sensibility and there
are not maximum detecting limits.
It is suitable to detect only particular films such
as Electro-less nickel coating, Electrolytic nickel
deposit, Tinning plating, Galvanizing and Copper plating.
